Rock Pool Rambling Wye River

Limpets

 Five Armed Cushion Stars

   Turban Shell

Ribbed Top Shells and Waratah Anemones

Finger being swallowed by anemone, awesome sensation.

Barnacles, Limpets, Ribbed top Shells, Waratah Anenome
Anemone Aulactinia veratra (I think)

We actually saw much more on our second rock pool ramble when the tide was out a little further including- eight armed cushion stars, sea urchins, Orange and White Stripe Anemones Anthothoe albocincta, mussells, Small Seaweed Crabs Notomithrax minor, Chiton, a really great spot to explore.

The Museum of Victoria app was great for identifying the species we saw. You can also visit there site here for the same information. Hopefully we've identified most sea life correctly.

  1. Bee-yoou-ti-ful pics! Such glorious weather for the kiddos to ramble over rock pools. Love this spot. How was the cabin?

  2. Lovely and comfortable, even had a spare bed to dump thing on. Fairly similar to the first cabin we had, great to have a balcony to watch the world go by on. Love the Big 4 and that ace jumping pillow.
